Hi Douglas and welcome
Bit quiet round here at present but I am hopeful that things will pick up as more and more people join.

We take our Campervan to Spain usually for Christmas and spend about 5 months wandering around the Costas and Portugal too, Anyone else on here do the same, and if so where do you make for ?

Lucky you!!
Couldn't get away with not being here at Christmas, the kids would never forgive me! Mind you I do love the cold so not sure where I would go even if I could.

We would love to get away for Christmas but everybody comes to our house for their dinner so we would be letting a lot of people down if we weren't here! Just wish I had a bigger house to cope with it all. Still, its nice when they've all gone home (I don't mean I'm glad to see the back of them lol) & I can settle down with a glass of wine, & put my feet up.

We have the family descend on us too, it would be lovely to be somewhere else and let someone else do all the work but then I don't think it would feel like Christmas. Been doing it for so long I've got into a routine and it would be weird to have anything different.
Now look!! I said don't mention Christmas and you're making me talk about it!

We used to host a New Years party at our home for many years, and one year we decided not to and let someone else host it, guess what no one did.

Ha Ha that sounds very familiar! Apart from 4 dear friends who we exchange dinner parties with we have one way events too.
My wife excels at entertaining but we seem to miss out on return invites. I put it down to them not being able to (or want the bother of) come up to the mark
